When the Toyota Corolla concept was revealed earlier this week at the Tokyo auto show, its eye-catching appearance was easily the biggest conversation starter. While Toyota said that the concept previews a future platform that’s compatible with a plethora of powertrains, the debut didn’t include any specific information. However, we’ve since talked with executives and engineers who shed some light on the automaker’s next generation of powertrains, which will motivate the future Corolla and other models.
Jaguar’s controversial reimagining will take just a little bit longer than originally expected. The British automaker first showed off its rebrand last November, with a new “Jaguar” script featuring a mishmash of capitalized and lowercase letters, a new circular “Jr” badge and a revised version of the iconic “leaper” logo. Soon after Jaguar pulled the covers off the Type 00, a concept that previews the four-door grand tourer that will kick off Jaguar’s rebirth. The new look proved polarizing, and now the production model has been delayed, according to an interview with Rawdon Glover, Jaguar managing director, in ABC News.
